I decided to post a family picture. It was quite a challenge trying to get both boys looking at the camera at the same time. I also included the picture of my three boys. They are so wonderful. It is so fun to watch them play together. I love having two adorable sons and one handsome husband
This weekend we had lots of fun. Saturday we spent the afternoon at Mom and Dad's house having a party while they were out of town. Edwin and Jennifer were in town. Richard and Jessica joined us from Rexburg, Maria and Josh came from Idaho Falls and also Rob and Julie Lang and their girls. Edwin and Richard made some great stir fry. When we all sat down to lunch Edwin helped us all feel right at home by saying, "You are all beautiful children." It was then stated, "I love you all very much, even you Rob." We had a good laugh.
I think my favorite part was watching the older four children play hide and seek. Alexis, Casey, Grace and Anton would wait for Rob to start counting then they would all run to the bathroom to hide together or they would all run upstairs to hide together. It was great to watch them laugh and as they ran in a line to where Alexis decided to hide.
Sunday we enjoyed Stake Conference. Afterwards the day was full of family stuff. We visited Grandma and Uncle Don. Aunt Kathy even decided to show up. We then went to visit Uncle Andy. He helped us get Anton's penny collection really filled in some more. Afterwards we enjoyed visiting Linden's family. We had a great dinner there with Big John, Little John, Jenna, Uncle John, Alex, Brad, Mark, Shaun, and Mom. Dinner was great and we enjoyed learning more about the ins and outs of competitive skiing from Mark. We will miss him when he goes back to the Netherlands in March. Thanks to everyone for their generosity with the birthday gifts.
Yesterday we enjoyed a lunch with Little John, Jenna, Shaun, Mom and the four of us. The sandwiches were great. I even got Mom to braid my hair for me. Thank you.
Afterwards we went to the Butler's for family home evening. We had a great lesson about Patriotism, because it was President's day. Edwin and Jennifer were there as well as Richard and Jessica. And of course Mom, Dad and David made it back from their trip to Houston.
How grateful I am for this great country in which I live. It isn't perfect, but we enjoy so many more freedoms, riches and blessings than so many other countries. I remember how I longed to hear the Star Spangled banner during my mission in Ecuador. How wonderful it is to know we live in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Anton's newest tricks are acting like Zackary. When he wants something he has taken to pointing and grunting or crying like Zackary does. We don't give him anything until he "uses his words." This means that he cries for several minutes and is silent for a few more until he gives in and asks for what he wants. He has to use a nice voice also. He has also decided that he likes the disposable diapers better than the cloth diapers, so no more disposable diapers for him. Hopefully if we only use cloth diapers he will decide that he wants to start using the potty.
Zackary is as cute as ever (like his big brother). He has been waving and clapping for quite a while, but this week he seems to be interested in it more than usual. He gets so excited when we clap with him. He loves to climb (unfortunately, also like his big brother). He tries to climb onto anything and everything. Anton doesnt' set a very good example of what should not be climbed.

Check us out!

Here are some pictures of the boys. Yes, we finally got some family pictures taken with Zackary in them. Zackary is really growing up. He now points and says "dat" when he wants something. He has been pointing and grunting for a while now, but the "dat" is new this week. He is also almost completely weaned. Yeah!! I cut out all of his nighttime feedings this week. I was working on getting rid of the daytime feedings first, but with each day time feeding he just wanted to nurse more at night, so we went cold turkey for all night time feedings this week. The first few nights were really rough, but now he is pretty much sleeping through the night. Double Yeah!!!! I haven't had that since he was born.
Anton is also really growing up. Thanks to his grandmas he has discovered the world of children's movies. He now is asking to watch any and all movies he has all the time. He only gets a maximum of one a day, though. Before this he was limited to Seasame Street a few times a week. Oh, well. He is talking up a storm in English and Spanish. He is using more and more verbs in Spanish and really expanding his vocabulary. We are still working with him on his colors, but he does great with his alphabet and numbers in both languages. He loves to count and sing the alphabet. He really enjoys listening to stories from the Book of Mormon and playing with all of his toys.
Such fun and wonderful little boys that we have!!!

Anton's First Shiner
Anton got his first black eye. I guess every little boy needs to have at least one at some point. He fell off of a chair and on his way down his eyebrow hit the edge of the seat. Within about five seconds of him falling he had a little bulge in another thirty seconds his eye was mostly swollen shut. The doctor said that it was just some broken blood vessels and that he would have a really good black eye. It didn't even seem to phase Anton. He was running around and jumping as usual, although his eye did look quite pretty. This picture is taken at the prettiest point of the black eye. Yes, his face is quite dirty. He fell asleep on the way home from some Thanksgiving weekend activities, so he didn't get his face washed or get in his pajamas, but instead just got put straight in bed. Luckily, his eye is pretty much all healed up now. In another day or two we won't even be able to tell that he ever had a black eye.
We will miss you Dad and Grandpa!
Early in the morning on October 9, 2008 I received a very sad phone call. My father-in-law had passed away. He will be greatly missed. He was an incredible man, full of love and acceptance for everyone. He did a great job of raising his children, and I was blessed enough to marry one of his sons. From the moment I first met him he showed great love and caring for me. I remember how he showed up at the hospital after our first baby was born. He had a special arrangement of flowers for me and a stuffed puppy for Anton. He was thrilled to have a new grandson and wanted to make sure that we were doing all right.
He visited us at least once a week, always wanting to take us out to lunch and spend time playing with his grandson. When we would visit him his face always lit up with joy upon seeing his son and grandsons. He always thanked me for bringing his boys to see him. He loved playing with Anton and Zackary and holding them, singing songs to them.
I remember one time, shortly after Anton was born, I had gone back to work and Linden was working out of town. He came to my work on an errand from Linden. Linden had given him some money to buy me some flowers because he knew I was having a hard time going back to work and having Linden gone. How grateful I was to see him and know that I had help. How wonderful that Linden learned such love and generosity from his father, because he truly taught his children about love and giving.
He had a love for knowledge. He was always reading about history and architecture and birds and so many other things. He had a wonderful sense of humor, a tremendous amount of patience, and a quiet, gentle manner.
What a privilege it was to have him in my life for the few years that I did. How wonderful it would be to have him here to see his grandsons grow and learn. We will deeply miss you, Dad and Grandpa. Thanks for your great example.
